The colleges include Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences, Business and Behavioral Science, Architecture, Arts and Humanities, Health, Education and Human Development; and Engineering & Science.

Rest comfortably in nearby Seneca. Enjoy your travels through the beautiful upcountry region of South Carolina.

Devils Fork State Park

As you venture through Salem on your next trip to Upcountry South Carolina, be sure to visit Devils Fork State Park. Stretched over 622 acres of pristine SC woodlands, Devils Fork State Park allows you to boat, fishing, hike, bike, and yields a slew of bird watching chances.

Devils Fork State Park opened in 1990 and since has become a landmark for outdoor fun and recreation. Drive in from Seneca – found just south – and experience a day full of excitement. Whether you seek the aquatic adventures Lake Jocassee yields, or if you're looking for the picturesque Jocassee Gorges, you'll find it at Devils Fork State Park.

Doug Kingsmore Stadium

Plan your next trip to South Carolina and make the most of a stay in the Upcountry region. There's always plenty to see and do in SC – excellent state parks, family-first attractions, Civil War sites, and even famous movie locations – but one of the best experiences you can have is watching Clemson Tigers baseball

Head for the Doug Kingsmore Stadium, not far southeast from nearby Seneca, and enjoy an exciting college baseball game. This stadium was opened in 1970 under its original name Beautiful Tiger Field. It was re-named in 2003. Doug Kingsmore Stadium has a seating capacity of 6,217, though it did set a record in 2016 with 6,524 fans in attendance.

Keowee-Toxaway State Park

Home to some of the more memorable sights of South Carolina, Keowee-Toxaway State Park offers vacationers an ideal, scenic retreat in upcountry woods. Just north of Seneca, guests are encouraged to traverse one of two hiking trails leading over the naturally-formed bridge, through the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and concluding at Keowee Lake. Visitors of the lake enjoy fishing for bass, catfish, crappie, and bream.

Kayaks and canoes are permitted on the lake, with motorized boat access to Lake Keowee located just five miles from the park. There's plenty to do on land as well – bike riding, bird watching, and picnicking are popular activities among park guests as well. Don't forget to visit the gift shop to take a piece of Keowee-Toxaway State Park home with you.

Littlejohn Coliseum

Plan out your next trek through South Carolina – and make sure you spend some time roaming through Upcountry. Of the many different must-see attractions and can't-miss sites – family fun, Civil War history, state parks; it's all here – be sure to visit the campus of Clemson University. Once there, head for Littlejohn Coliseum, home of Clemson Tigers basketball.

Seating 10,325 fans, Littlejohn Coliseum is a multi-purpose venue found at the northwest end of campus, adjacent to Memorial Stadium. Opened in 1968, Littlejohn Coliseum features an authentic hardwood floor, and has hosted some huge games. The Tigers men's and women's basketball seasons start up in October.

Memorial Stadium

Explorations through South Carolina are loaded with an array of exciting and must-see events and attractions. From the rich cultural destinations, excellent state parks, and Civil War sites, the Palmetto State is an ideal destination. During your next visit to SC, be sure to check out Memorial Stadium, home of the Clemson Tigers football team.

Stay in the charming city of Seneca and make the short drive into Clemson – it's just to the southeast. Memorial Stadium is a raucous place come game day – the Clemson Tigers football season generally kicks off in late August or early September, so plan accordingly. It seats 81,500 fans, and was opened in 1942.

Sadlers Creek State Park

Located in South Carolina's upcountry, Sadlers State Park stretches across nearly 400 acres of scenic land near the town of Seneca. Sadlers State Park offers guests a wide variety of outdoor recreation, set on a peninsula extending into Lake Hartwell. Visitors of the park enjoy the numerous hiking and mountain biking opportunities in the wooded sandhills.

Due to its aquatic location, park guests also utilize the region for fishing, swimming, and boating on Lake Hartwell. Pack a lunch – Sadler State Park has great picnic areas and a pavilion ideal for large gatherings.
